Cris Cyborg Blasts Dakota Ditcheva: “She’s Got a Lot to Learn About the Business From the Vets”

Cris Cyborg and Dakota Ditcheva have been bantering a little bit about a PFL super fight between the two, with the former recently responding to the latter. Ditcheva is a massive star for the promotion, and her grassroots rise in PFL will add another chapter as her story keeps unfurling on July 31st.

In Long Island, New York, the 27-year-old will clash with Denise Kielholtz, with a prior attempt at booking this fight for February falling out with Ditcheva’s injury issues popping up. While she has her next test lined up, touching on the prior callouts for a fight from combat sports legend Cris Cyborg, Ditcheva said [via MMA Junkie],

“It was a good bit of promo, but I’m too small for [Cris] Cyborg. She’s way too heavy. It just doesn’t make sense. Liz [Carmouche] is already calling me out in my division, so I feel like there’s a lot of names I’ve still got to go through before I move to 135 in the future… I’m not scared to fight Cyborg. Again, just going back to, ‘Does it suit me right now? Is it what I want? Do I need Cyborg?’ I don’t know. There’s potential it could happen. But at the same time, I’ll always do what’s right for me.”

“They’re calling me out. The world is my oyster right now, I feel like. I’ve got so many different opportunities that I’m just kind of rolling with it, seeing what happens and where it goes. Hopefully I can continue to keep entertaining everybody else. Another big thing for me as well is I don’t want to be a boring fighter.”

Cris Cyborg fires back at Dakota Ditcheva: “I did her the favor”

Via her personal X account, in a quote tweet of the Dakota Ditcheva article responding to the 2025 PFL flyweight champion, Cris Cyborg responded,

“I like @dakotadofficial. In the business they call it giving her the rub. She’s smart in saying that at 135 she is too small “never being enough— me calling her out”- shows she’s got a lot to learn about the business from the vets. I did her the favor.”
