Conor McGregor Sparks Comeback Buzz After Changing His Profile Picture Ahead of Potential UFC Return

Conor McGregor

Former UFC double champion Conor McGregor has changed his profile picture on X to a UFC 246 fight photo, further reigniting hope for his long-awaited octagon return.

The Irishman, who was on a social media hiatus for the past few weeks and also deactivated his Instagram account, recently opened up about how a 36-hour ibogaine treatment showed him the light

McGregor’s posts about his return have elicited a range of responses from fans. His coach, however, told MMA reporter Ariel Helwani that his pupil is concentrating on his return, arriving at the gym timely, and has also asked for suggestions to ramp up the training process.

McGregor has not fought since breaking his leg vs. Dustin Poirier in 2021. Following recovery and rehabilitation, ‘The Notorious’ was scheduled to fight Michael Chandler in 2024, but the fight was cancelled after the Irishman suffered a toe injury. McGregor has experienced ups and downs since then, but it appears that the UFC White House 2026 card is currently his main focus.

UFC lightweight contender shows interest in fighting Conor McGregor

No. 1 UFC lightweight contender Arman Tsarukyan was recently asked by Daniel Cormier if he would fight again before getting a title shot. Tsarukyan stated that unless his opponent is Conor McGregor, he will not fight again unless it’s for the title. He said:

“If it’s not Conor McGregor, then I will not fight. He would never fight me, and the UFC won’t let me fight Conor McGregor. It’s a nightmare for him.”

Tsarukyan most recently fought Dan Hooker at UFC Qatar, where he submitted ‘The Hangman’ in Round 2. After this dominant win, he now hopes to get a title shot. However, 155-pound champion Ilia Topuria has shown interest in fighting Paddy Pimblett over Tsarukyan.
