It seems like it’s not all just football stadiums and world titles after all for the brash, and outspoken Irish superstar the “Notorious” Conor McGregor, who will get his chance to capture UFC gold this weekend (July 11, 2015) at UFC 189 as he takes on No. 1-contender Chad “Money” Mendes for the interim title.

Apparently McGregor is extremely confident that he will indeed secure that title, as it was recently reported that he had offered to bet UFC president Dana White millions that he would put “Money” away in the very first round. The “Notorious” one recently spoke on that report on the Jim Rome Show, saying that it would’ve added over three million dollars to his earnings, and that he feels as if he needs to shake on it with White and UFC CEO Lorenzo Fertitta:

“It was more closer to 3.5 million: there was a stipulation on the pay-per-view buys,” McGregor told Rome. “It would have added 3.5 million dollars to my purse, and I feel I must see Dana and I must see Lorenzo and we must shake on it. Because a bet of that magnitude, you must shake hands.”

The Irishmen has clearly already made quite a bit of money, and his goal of being a champion could be secured soon as well. McGregor has yet to headline a stadium in his native Ireland, but with his star power, it seems as if that is all but set to happen one day.

However, it seems as if his goals don’t stop there. Continuing on, McGregor said that he believes he is the best fighter right now, and he would like to go down as the greatest of all time, but he also said that his long-time goal is to actually own the UFC:

“I want to go down as one of the greatest of all time. I feel in my era, I am pound for pound number one and I would like to go down remembered as that,” said McGregor. “As far as what’s ahead for me, I feel I want shares in the company, I want to own the company one day, that’s my goal.”

Well it sure seems as if he has large aspirations for himself, but before McGregor can think about buying the UFC, he has quite an important fight in front of him. Can the “Notorious” one topple Mendes this Saturday?
