Bubba Jenkins Will Take “Little Bro” David Carr’s Family Reunion Plate and Title at RAF 6
Bubba Jenkins will battle for a shoot pro wrestling belt at RAF 6 and that goes down on February 28th. Jenkins will clash with reigning Real American Freestyle titleholder David Carr and when touching on how he is doing heading into the contest, Jenkins said [via Bowks Talking Bouts],
“Yeah, man. It’s good. I got a world title on the mat, on the line, and I’m excited about it. Going against my little bro. So, it’s a fight at the family reunion.”
When explaining that dynamic for people who aren’t as familiar with what Jenkins is talking about with the little brother comments, Jenkins stated [via Bowks Talking Bouts],
“Yeah, absolutely. So, me and my boy David Carr are going to put on an absolute show for the wrestling community on one of the biggest stages in pro wrestling, RAF 6… in Tempe at Arizona, February 28th. Like I said, he’s my little bro. I’m the same age and in the age group of his older brother, Nate Carr, and I’ve been a mentor to the family and everything like that. But, there’s been a discrepancy over the big plate at the family reunion. I told him that was my plate.”
“He told me it was his plate and now we got to go to the backyard and figure it out. But no, it’s just all love, man. I’m excited because iron sharpens iron in this case and the real fans, the real wrestling community really get a treat because they get to see two styles that are very similar and it can be like the newer version of the same style. So you get like the BMW with the BMW XLS or something like that, you know? It’s just kind of cool differences.”
Bubba Jenkins on David Carr: “it’s like watching a younger version of myself”
When delving into how this almost seems like a generational clash with David Carr’s style carrying many hallmarks that people would use to describe the PFL stalwart’s wrestling approach, as Jenkins quipped [via Bowks Talking Bouts],
“Absolutely. Even while watching him and studying the things that he does, it’s like watching a younger version of myself, and he says he’s faster. So, you know, I was pretty fast in my day and I got some good speed on me still. So, we gonna chase that and test that. But honestly, man, I’m just excited for the opportunity for him to have put his belt on the line against an OG like myself it’s just honorable and it speaks to the character that he has.”
“He’s a man of God, as am I. We’re two of the Lord’s favorite warriors. So, we’re going to go in this match and and really show America, show the Real American Freestyle fans in the audience what true men after their purpose looks like while they’re both competing for only one belt on the line.”
