Ben Askren, Movsar Evloev and others react as Alexander Volkanovski Secures Win Over Diego Lopes in UFC 325 Rematch
Earlier tonight, Alexander Volkanovski got his hand raised in front of his home crowd at UFC 325 and successfully defended his featherweight title for the first time in his second reign.
‘The Great’ once more fought a well-calculated and technical fight and stayed out of Lopes’ firing range in the title rematch. The champ constantly circled and waited for Lopes to get aggressive, so that he could catch him off guard, and the game plan worked.
Although Lopes managed to drop ‘The Great’ once and even threatened him with a few submission attempts, it was Alexander Volkanovski who maintained the higher pace and consistent output throughout.
After 25 minutes, the 37-year-old cruised to a comfortable unanimous decision victory.
‘The Great’ wants to face Movsar Evloev or Lerone Murphy next.

The MMA Guru was not impressed with the UFC 325 main event. He quipped:
“Really dogs*it fight in the main event, nothing from either fighter. Volk just jabbing and tapping with low kicks on the back foot. Had that a lot closer than 50-45 I thought Lopes could’ve took a close round 2 and 4. Then won round 3 because he literally dropped Volk #UFC325.”
