Huge news has come from the UFC today (December 24, 2015) as the promotion has announced that legendary former long-time middleweight kingpin Anderson “The Spider” Silva will return to take on polarizing veteran Michael “The Count” Bisping in the main event of UFC London which is set for February 27, 2016.

The card is set to air live on UFC Fight Pass.

After returning from a year long layoff due to a gruesome leg injury to meet Nick Diaz at last January’s UFC 183, it was shockingly reported that “The Spider” had tested positive for multiple performance-enhancing-drugs (PEDs).

Silva received a fine and a one year suspension which will be up this coming January. At 40 years old, he has gone just 0-2-1 in his last three bouts, but the Brazilian icon doesn’t seem to be done just yet.

Bisping, one of the most notable fighters to have never received a UFC title shot, has talked upon a potential bout with Silva for years and it will finally come to fruition.

“The Count” is currently ranked No. 7 in the 185-pound division, and has won his last two bouts. Adding a win over a name like Silva to his resume would do wonders for his title hopes.

UFC president Dana White announced the news via his official twitter account:

Bisping was originally scheduled to take on Gegard Mousasi in London, and it seems as if the UFC is searching for a new opponent for “The Dreamcatcher”.
