Alexander Volkanovski Looking to Make UFC 325 Memorable with a ‘Bulldozing’ Performance

UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski has teased a big performance this weekend in the main event of UFC 325.

On Saturday night aka Sunday morning in Australia, Alexander Volkanovski will defend his UFC featherweight championship against Diego Lopes – the same man he beat to win the belt for a second time. The expectation from many is that he will wind up getting his hand raised once again, but of course, this is mixed martial arts, and anything can happen at the elite level in this sport.

Plus, Lopes is a pretty nasty striker when he gets going, and Alexander Volkanovski knows that better than most given that he’s already been in the cage with him. Alas, ‘The Great’ has always gone out there with the intention of really proving himself, and proving his doubters wrong. At the age of 37, he wants to showcase that even veterans can get the job done in big time main events.

In a recent pre-fight media scrum, Alexander Volkanovski had the following to say about the style he hopes to implement in Sydney.

Alexander Volkanovski ready for memorable performance

“I do believe that. If I wanna grab a hold of someone and really grab hold of them, I’m gonna rag doll them. If I wanna go out there and swing, yeah, the opportunities for them to land are good, but, I’m very calculated. I’ve always been that way and you should be.

“But when moments come, I might take a little more risk and go for that finish. If I really do, I can bulldoze these guys. He’s gonna come aggressively at me. Obviously, I know he’s gonna be looking for the big counter so we’ll be wary of that. But at the same time, come at me like that, there’s gonna be some big shots coming your way, 100%.”
