Five UFC Champions In Danger Of Losing Their Belts In 2018

Conor McGregor

McGregor’s situation is a bit different than some other fighters on this list because it’s possible that he could lose his 155-pound title in 2018, but it may not come from a fight.

McGregor hasn’t competed inside the Octagon since winning the title at UFC 205 in November 2016.

He took on Floyd Mayweather this past August in a boxing match, and his fighting future is now uncertain. With that being said, it’s certainly a realistic possibility that McGregor could vacate his title or be stripped of it in 2018.

If he does elect to defend it, he won’t have an easy road either.

He’ll likely have to take on interim champion Tony Ferguson or top contender Khabib Nurmagomedov, two fighters who present incredibly difficult stylistic match-ups for McGregor.

I can’t wait for Conor to get stripped of his title.
On the real, the UFC should make a timeline for when champions should defend their titles or get stripped.
Then A-holes like Conor can’t hold divisions hostage.

    • Draven

champions usually get 12 months to defend their titles.

I hope they don’t strip him, I hope they feed him to Khabib or Tony. But, he’ll probably get a dead beat, mediocre fighter like Nate again. I think he’ll vacate the title before getting in the octagon with Tony or Khabib.

They should rank the champs from most to least likely to still have their title at the end of 2018. Cyborg has to be the most likely.
