With Sonnen out of Forrest Griffin fight, Little Nog wants in

Now that Chael Sonnen is coaching opposite Jon Jones on the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter, Forrest Griffin is left without an opponent at UFC 155. UFC President Dana White stated during a conference call that Griffin would remain on the card and an opponent would be found.

Enter, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira.

The fighter affectionately known as “Little Nog” took to Twitter to let everyone know that he’s ready to step up and face Griffin in Las Vegas on December 29. “I’m 100% and training again. Put me in against @ForrestGriffin on UFC 155! This fight was scheduled once, let’s do it now!” Nogueira tweeted.

As you may recall, Nogueira and Griffin were slated to face one another at UFC 114 back in 2010. Griffin had to pull out due to an injury and Nogueira would up nearly being upset by Jason Brilz. After that controversial victory, Little Nog dropped back to back decisions to Ryan Bader and Phil Davis. A TKO victory over Tito Ortiz at UFC 140 got him to 3-2 in the UFC. A knee injury has shelved him since then as he had to pull out of the Alexander Gustafsson at UFC on FUEL TV 2 in Sweden. But now Nog is healed up and ready to go.

While Dana White says he has a fighter in mind, Little Nog surely hopes that it is him.
