Will Fleury Set to Defend Light Heavyweight Title Against Makhmud Muradov at OKTAGON 92 due to Injury
Makhmud Muradov has accepted a short-notice move to light heavyweight to challenge OKTAGON two-division champion Will Fleury at OKTAGON 92 on August 1 in Prague. The title fight replaces Fleury’s planned rematch with Daniel Skvor, who withdrew after injuring his pectoral muscle attachment in training.
Will Fleury Get a New Challenger
Fleury, 17-3 with one no contest, will make the first defense of his OKTAGON light heavyweight title at the outdoor Stvanice venue. The Irishman enters with the heavyweight belt as well, having built an unbeaten run in the promotion and recently stopped Kasim Aras to retain the heavyweight championship.
The switch arrives late in fight week, but it keeps a second championship bout on a card already led by Lucia Szabova’s bantamweight title defense against Lucie Pudilova. Fleury had been booked to face Czech striker Skvor in a rematch before the injury forced the change.
Makhmud Muradov Moves Up
Muradov, 29-8 with one no contest, steps up from middleweight after becoming OKTAGON’s interim 185-pound champion with a decision over Patrik Kincl at OKTAGON 72. He now gets the chance to leave Prague with a title in a second weight class.
The Uzbekistan-born UFC veteran has competed against Caio Borralho, Bryan Barberena and Scott Askham during his career. His short-notice acceptance changes the matchup from a repeat meeting with Skvor into a bout between two established names who were unbeaten under the OKTAGON banner entering the booking.
Fleury brings the size and recent heavyweight activity, while Muradov enters with middleweight speed and a résumé built across UFC and European MMA. There is no long buildup here: Muradov is trading a familiar division for a title shot against a fighter who has collected belts at 205 and heavyweight.
OKTAGON 92
Lucia Szabová defends her bantamweight championship against Lucie Pudilová in a Czech-Slovak rivalry fight. Szabova is unbeaten at 11-0, while Pudilova brings a 17-11 record and UFC experience, making this a major career test for the undefeated champion.
The tension was already visible during their June faceoff, when Pudilova pushed Szabova and the champion stayed composed. Pudilova had pursued the matchup since 2025, while Szabova added a second OKTAGON belt in April.
David Kozma faces David Zawada in a meeting of experienced European welterweights. Kozma has long been one of OKTAGON’s most recognizable Czech names, while Zawada arrives with experience from major regional promotions and the UFC.
Elsewhere, Germany’s Hafeni Nafuka meets Czech striker Tomas Mudroch. Nafuka is listed at 12-4 and Mudroch at 8-2, giving the matchup a prospect-versus-prospect feel on a card built around two title fights.
OKTAGON 92 takes place Saturday, August 1, at Stvanice in Prague, with Fleury vs. Muradov and Szabova vs. Pudilova set as the championship attractions.
