Khamzat Chimaev accused of assaulting a man at Dubai International Airport
According to Rich Patterson, who claims to be a U.S. Air Force Veteran and goes by the username @1rjpatterson on Instagram, Khamzat Chimaev assaulted him earlier this month at the DXB airport while Patterson was traveling alone back to the U.S.
Patterson alleges that as a “Borz” fan, he approached Chimaev to merely say hello and take a picture with the UFC champ. He further alleges that Khamzat Chimaev took offense to the gesture, suddenly charged forward, and kicked him in the chest.
Patterson has also claimed that he was surrounded by seven to eight other individuals when Chimaev decided to attack him.
The accuser added that CCTV footage captured the full incident, and further alleged that Khamzat Chimaev was taken to jail following the altercation, and he was released.

Rich Patterson posted on Instagram:
“I’m a husband, father, and brother to many. That being said, when we travel, nobody expects to be assaulted. Not only that, but as a fan, attempting to humbly approach a person to say hello to someone they follow. At around 0100-0200, Khamzat Chimaev assaulted me earlier this month in the DXB airport while I was traveling alone back to the US.
I was literally surrounded by him and like 7 or 8 others when he decided to charge through and kick me in the chest. It’s all on CCTV. No matter how early in the morning, no matter how hungover or intoxicated a ‘professional’ @ufc fighter is, nobody deserves this. I’m a 46-year-old USAF Vet. The stories and rumors about this guy’s wild antics are true. This guy tried to take me out.”

Although Khamzat Chimaev did go to Dubai recently, as of the time of writing this article, there is no verified record that the Chechen-born Emirati was taken to jail for this incident or that anything of this sort took place in the first place. These claims by Rich Patterson remain unconfirmed allegations.
