UFC London Preliminary Card Results: Arnold Allen Decisions Jordan Rinaldi

UFC on ESPN+ 5 preliminary card results are underway as the Las Vegas-based promotion holds this latest event on television for fight fans around the world to watch the show.

It’s once again fight day here at LowKickMMA, and the talent on display today (Saturday, March 16, 2019) will come from in the form of UFC on ESPN+ 5. There’s a whole bunch of great fights also taking place on the preliminary section of the card.

Arnold Allen vs. Jordan Rinaldi in a featherweight bout closes the preliminary card on ESPN+ in what should be an interesting fight. In round 1, Allen continues chopping away at Rinaldi’s legs and the crowd begins to boo. They trade punches on the feet, but neither man lands anything noteworthy. In round 2, Allen tags Rinaldi with a right to the body. Rinaldi is still unable to land anything cleanly on Allen. Rinaldi shoots in from way outside and Allen avoids it rather easily. Allen lands a right to the head and then a hard left hook to the body. In round 3, Rinaldi needs to change something here in the third because he’s not been able to get anything going. A hard left to the body by Allen, who follows that up with a volley to the head. Rinaldi backs away to recover. Allen got the decision win.

Joseph Duffy vs. Marc Diakiese is next in a lightweight bout. In round 1, A left elbow to the head drops Duffy. Duffy gets up and Diakiese goes right back to the leg kicks. Duffy is not liking this at all. In round 2, Diakiese starts the second with leg kicks and then kisses another spinning head kick. Duffy stumbles to the ground and Diakiese dives into his guard. Movahedi stands the fighters up rather quickly and they reset in the center of the cage. Diakiese takes Duffy down, but he can’t keep him there. In round 3, Diakiese changes levels and shoots in. He has Duffy’s back against the cage, looking for a takedown. Time expires and Diakiese wins it.

Nicolae Negumereanu vs. Saparbek Safarov is next in a light heavyweight bout. In round 1, Negu rolls to his guard and pulls full guard. Safarov is landing a few scattered punches. Negu is looking for a foot lock and Safarov is again warned for grabbing the fence. Safarov then hits Negu after Roberts calls time. They trade punches, with Safarov landing a hard right to the head before pressing Negu into the cage. In round 2, Safarov tags Negu with a left hook and his legs rubberize. He backs away but Safarov doesn’t jump on him. Negu fishes for an inverted heel hook, but he doesn’t have it. Safarov escapes and then drops a few elbows and punches from on top. In round 3, Negu’s right eye is a swollen mess and he is thus far unable to get the Russian off him. Safarov is dishing out some brutal elbows and Negu is in serious peri. Safarov is on top and slowly landing punches and elbows. Now Safarov is looking for a kimura. He lets it go. The judges gave the win to Safarov.

Dan Ige vs. Danny Henry is next in a featherweight bout. In the first round, Ige got the back of Henry and locked in the rear-naked choke for the win. 

Molly McCann vs. Priscila Cachoeira is next in a women’s flyweight bout. In round 1, McCann nearly lands the armbar, rolls Cachoeira over and then loses it. Meatball is on top and threatening with a choke.Cachoeira is on top and threatening with a choke. McCann mounts Cachoeira late but time runs out. In round 2, McCann with a few upward elbows inside. Cachoeira looks tired and frustrated with 90 seconds left in the second. Zombie Girl comes alive early and closes McCann’s left eye with a punch. In round 3, McCann’s left eye is completely swollen shut but she continues to come forward and throw punches. Cachoeira lands a cheap shot during the touch of gloves and is warned by the referee. They exchange blows down the stretch. it’s a close round but Mollywins the third based on more damage landed. Molly got the decision win.

Opening the prelims is Mike Grundy vs. Nad Narimani in a featherweight bout. In round 1, Grundy finally changes levels and scores a double-leg takedown with 90 seconds left. Nad is able to climb back to his feet but he’s trapped against the cage. Nad shoots in with 20 seconds left but Grundy stuffs him. In round 2, Grundy had a left glance off Nad’s head, but Nad counters with a right upstairs, knocking him down. Grundy isn’t hurt and pops right back up. Nad stays measured and is tagging him. Grundy is in full recovery mode with 45 seconds left. Nad is clobbered by a huge left hook and he drops. Nad gets up but he’s in deep trouble. Grundy tees off on him with punches until the referee stops it.
