Most fans remember the UFC’s last trip to Dublin quite vividly, as it was a phenomenal show headlined by none other than Irish sensation, and current interim featherweight champion the “Notorious” Conor McGregor.
The UFC is once again set to head to Dublin, as UFC Fight Night 76 is scheduled for October 24, 2015 at 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland, but this time McGregor won’t be on the card. The card is being headlined by a lightweight showdown between former featherweight contender Dustin Poirier, and rising Irishmen Joe Duffy.
It looks as if the card will be successful nonetheless with “Irish” Joe leading the charge, as UFC president Dana White announced at yesterday’s “Go Big” press-conference that the card had sold out in just 60-seconds.
Despite being fairly new to the UFC, Duffy has had eyes on him for quite some time, as he is actually the last man to beat the “Notorious” McGregor. Since entering the Octagon, “Irish” Joe has scored back to back wins including two finishes over Jake Lindsey, and Ivan Jorge.
Poirier is also familiar with McGregor, losing a bout to the Irish champ last September. Since then, the “Diamond” has move up to 155-pounds, and has scored two-straight TKO victories over Carlos Diego Ferreira, and Yancy Medeiros.
The UFC has also put an intriguing heavyweight bout in the co-main event, as top contenders Stipe Miocic, and Ben Rothwell are set to do battle.
