ronda rousey 2012 espy awards 02UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey is quickly becoming a huge crossover star, having recently been cast alongside a laundry list of action legends in “The Expendables 3.” Now, news come from Variety that Rousey is also in talks for a role in the upcoming, “Fast and Furious 7,” starring and produced by Vin Diesel.

Rousey is in the preliminary negotiating phase for a role in the film, which is set to begin filming this fall in Atlanta. Tentative plans have her team following her there to help her train for her upcoming title bout against archrival Miesha Tate at UFC 168 on December 28th.

Reports have most of the “Fast and Furious 6” cast returning, such as main stars Diesel and Paul Walker, making Rousey’s potential acquisition the first main new cast signing for the film. Celebrated horror film director James Wan is set to direct the picture, which is slated for a July 2014 release.

It’s another huge opportunity for Rousey, who is currently finishing up filming on TUF 18 opposite her not-so-close friend Tate. Trash talk between Rousey and Tate is beginning to reach an all-time high as the two clearly despise one another.

However, it seems like Rousey is starting to get pulled in all sorts of directions. Even with her team migrating alongside her to help her train while filming, it’s tough to think that she is going to get the attention and focus necessary for a UFC-level title fight. In that sense, Rousey’s blossoming acting career could definitely interfere with her ability to stay on top of the UFC’s female division as champion.

And while she is no doubt doing very well in the octagon, it’s going to be tough to compete with the allure of Hollywood money. Is Ronda Rousey jumping into acting too fast, and if so, will it spell the end of her short but decorated fighting career?
