Mauricio Ruffy Sends Rafael Fiziev Packing with Savage Knockout – UFC 325 Highlights
Mauricio Ruffy delivered one of the biggest knockouts of the night at UFC 325, putting away Rafael Fiziev to secure his spot in the lightweight top 10.
Fiziev immediately looked to put pressure on Ruffy, pressing his opponent against the cage and landing a series of stiff calf kicks. Much of the first round belonged to Fiziev, though Ruffy started to find his flow state in the closing minute of the stanza.
Ruffy continued to pick up momentum in the second, effectively counterstriking and taking away the lead leg attack that worked so well for Fiziev early on.
With the clock ticking down in the round, Ruffy unleashed a hellacious right hand that sent a thudding echo throughout the arena. Fiziev hit the mat momentarily before scrambling back to his feet and desperately trying to survive the ensuing onslaught. Before long, Fiziev would find himself on the canvas and forced to cover up, prompting the referee to step in and bring a stop to the contest.
