Magomed Zaynukov Picks Apart Fellow Debutant Damian Rzepecki En Route To Decision Win At UFC Abu Dhabi
Magomed Zaynukov lived up to the hype in his long-awaited UFC debut.
The undefeated Russian prospect showcased a polished all-around game at UFC Abu Dhabi, cruising to a unanimous decision over previously unbeaten Damian Rzepecki to remain perfect and announce himself as a rising contender in the lightweight division.
The opening round was briefly halted after “Wild Chanko” accidentally poked Rzepecki in the eye, but the interruption did little to slow his momentum. Once the action resumed, the Dana White’s Contender Series graduate mixed sharp kicks, knees, and clean combinations while defending the Polish fighter’s grappling attempts to edge the frame.
Magomed Zaynukov took complete control in the second round, stuffing clinch attacks before punishing “The Butcher” with crushing elbows and varied striking combinations. The sustained offense opened a deep cut and left the Polish debutant bloodied as Zaynukov searched for a finish.
Although “The Butcher” remained game in the final round, he struggled to close the distance as Zaynukov continued picking him apart with front kicks, elbows, and timely counters. Wild Chanko” comfortably closed out the fight to secure a clean sweep on the judges’ scorecards.
All three judges awarded Magomed Zaynukov a 30-27 victory, improving the highly touted lightweight to 9-0 overall record. Meanwhile, Rzepecki suffered the first defeat of his professional career, falling to 10-1.
