MMA World Reacts as Josh Hokit Silences Doubters, Batters Derrick Lewis at UFC Freedom 250
The MMA community has reacted to the undefeated Josh Hokit’s dominant performance against heavyweight knockout artist Derrick Lewis at UFC Freedom 250.
Hokit was game to stand and bang with “The Black Beast” from the opening bell. The polarizing 265-pound fighter connected every shot and mixed with takedowns to wear down Lewis.
In the first round, Derrick Lewis failed to land anything significant, and Hokit dominated the majority of the action. The 28-year-old did most of the damage, threatened the 41-year-old with an armbar attempt, and wasted most of Lewis’ energy during these exchanges.
In the second round, Derrick Lewis showed better takedown defense but barely had anything left in his gas tank. He failed to find his rhythm and missed most of the strikes. Soon enough, Hokit saw the perfect opportunity and unleashed a vicious combination to secure a TKO victory before the second frame could conclude.
