Merab Dvalishvili Unfazed by Venue or Delay, Confirms Petr Yan Trilogy
Merab Dvalishvili wants that UFC bantamweight strap back on his shoulders, and the Georgian recently reaffirmed that the promotion has promised him a title rematch next.
However, Dvalishvili and Yan won’t be fighting at the White House on June 14. Previously, ‘The Machine’ revealed that the UFC brass had told him that a trilogy fight between him and Yan would not take place on June 14. Reportedly, the promotion does not plan on putting Russian fighters on that historic card.
However, ‘The Machine’ is just eager to reclaim what he lost at UFC 323 and is even ready to run it back at the UFC Apex. He said:
“One thing is for sure. UFC tells me this. I’m next for the title. They saw my hard work. I beat Petr in 2023. He beat me in 2025… But they told me this. I will fight, it’s not going to be the White House. But listen, guys, I don’t care. White House, Black House, yellow house, UFC Apex, or my backyard. This is our fight.”

Merab Dvalishvili defended his title successfully three times in 2025.
On his fourth title defense, he aimed to create history by becoming the first champion to log four successful defenses in a year. However, at UFC 323, his pursuit was not fulfilled, with Yan playing the spoiler by dethroning the Georgian.
The UFC has returned respect to ‘The Machine’ for being a company man and the most active champion. Dana White has promised him a rematch wherever he is ready to be back in action.
Petr Yan vs. Merab Dvalishvili 3 will be delayed
The potential trilogy bout between Merab Dvalishvili and Petr Yan will be delayed because ‘No Mercy’ recently had lower back surgery. He is likely to spend the next couple of months on recovery and rehabilitation before making his return to the octagon to defend his title for the first time in his second reign.
The champion informed fans the same via Instagram:
“I was under anesthesia for 9 hours. I had surgery on my lower back yesterday. A couple of months and I’ll be back in action.”
