Khabib Nurmagomedov Sends Powerful Message Of Support To Islam Makhachev Before UFC 330 Title Fight
Khabib Nurmagomedov has sent a powerful and touching message to Islam Makhachev ahead of his UFC 330 title fight.
The welterweight showdown that will headline the event will see the Russian take on Ian Machado Garry. The fight also marks Makhachev’s first 170lbs title defense.
With just a few hours left for the fight, Nurmagomedov, Makhachev’s close friend and fellow Dagestani, penned a powerful note addressing the 34-year-old and his journey to date. He wrote on Instagram:
At first you try to learn how to fight, then you perform as an amateur, then you have a goal to go pro someday, then you have the goal to sign up for UFC, then you want to be a champion there, after a while you need a second belt and now you’re breaking records. It’s all called hard work, patience and discipline. Go ahead brother.

Having made his UFC debut way back in 2015, Islam Makhachev suffered a setback in only his second fight when he was KO’d by Adriano Martins at UFC 192.
However, his comeback after that was one for the ages. Makhachev went on a staggering undefeated run that continues until today. Bouncing back with a win against Chris Wade almost a year after his loss to Martins, the Russian slowly rose up the ranks in the lightweight division.
A 10-fight win streak saw him finally land a title shot in the lightweight division against Charles Oliveira. Makhachev beat the Brazilian to strike UFC gold before going on to defend the 155-pound belt four times, vacate it, and later win the welterweight belt.
