Kayla Harrison Reveals Details of Feud With Amanda Nunes

Amanda Nunes, Kayla Harrison

UFC contender Kayla Harrison has revealed the origin of her feud with Amanda Nunes.

As we know, Kayla Harrison is a top women’s bantamweight contender in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. We also know she’s set to return to active competition against Ketlen Vieira at UFC 307 later this year following her debut triumph over Holly Holm.

Her end goal, of course, is to capture the championship, following the success she enjoyed in the PFL. However, even if she does become champion, fans and pundits alike will constantly be comparing her to Amanda Nunes.

Nunes is widely considered to be the greatest of all time in women’s mixed martial arts. So, it makes sense that Harrison would want to throw down with her.

In a recent interview, Kayla explained where their ‘feud’, if you will, actually began.

Kayla Harrison explains Amanda Nunes beef

“Selfishly, I hope that she does [Amanda Nunes ends her retirement].” Kayla Harrison stated in a recent interview ahead of her UFC return. “But again, I have no beef with Amanda other than her trying to throw American Top Team under the bus. You don’t play with, or don’t f*ck with my homies. But listen if she’s happy and she’s living her dream, that’s great.”

She continued, “But selfishly, I would love for her to come back so that I can put all of the noise to rest. But again, one step at a time. Ketlen first, then the title, and then Amanda if she wants some.”

The hope is that we’ll see them settle things inside the cage at some point in the future. Alas, given how great Amanda was throughout her run in the UFC, you’d have to think that part of her wants to maintain her fairytale ending – and rightfully so.
