Philadelphia’s Jeremiah Wells Sleeps Myktybek Orolbai With Brutal Comeback Guillotine At UFC 330
Jeremiah Wells looked headed for a loss in front of his hometown crowd, only to turn the entire fight upside down with one brutal sequence at UFC 330.
The Philadelphia native started aggressively against heavily favored Myktybek Orolbai, landing a clean combination early, but the Kyrgyz fighter quickly settled into the fight. Orolbai’s wrestling and relentless pressure allowed him to control much of the opening round before he continued that dominance into the second, repeatedly putting Wells in difficult positions on the mat.
Everything changed in the third round. Wells landed a huge right hand that rocked Orolbai and forced him to shoot for a takedown. Wells immediately wrapped up a guillotine choke, squeezing tightly as Orolbai desperately tried to escape. The 28-year-old refused to tap and eventually went unconscious, forcing the referee to stop the contest at 1:24 of Round 3.
The victory marked Jeremiah Wells’ third UFC stoppage and his sixth UFC win in eight appearances. Orolbai entered the bout on a three-fight winning streak but now falls to 16-3-1, while Wells improves to 14-4-1.
