Deontay Wilder Drops Huge Hints About Epic Clash with Francis Ngannou
Deontay Wilder still has his sights set on a scrap with former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou.
Ngannou’s foray into the world of professional boxing has had its ups and downs. After delivering a stellar performance against former WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, ‘The Predator’ suffered a brutal second-round knockout loss against Anthony Joshua.
Since then, Ngannou has climbed back into the win column with a dominant showing against Renan Ferreira in his long-awaited PFL debut in October.

Six months later, we still have no idea what’s next for the former UFC champion, but according to Wilder, the two parties are still in negotiations for a clash between the two knockout artists.
“Me and Francis, that fight, it still comes up. It came up two more times not too long ago,” Wilder said on the ARIEL X ADE show. “We’re just trying to figure out how we want the segment to go with me and Ngannou. I’m definitely interested; he is as well. I guess it’s just a matter of… a time.
“It’s looking to be done, but it’s just all of the details and stuff like that. I’m looking forward to that one, so stay tuned.”
Deontay wilder returns to the ring on june 27
But first, Deontay Wilder is focused on the task at hand. That being a fight with 24-win journeyman Tyrrell Herndon. The two will tussle inside Charles Koch Arena in Wichita on Friday, June 27.

‘The Bronze Bomber’ has 43 wins on his resume with 42 of those victories coming by way of knockout. However, Wilder has dropped four of his last five, including back-to-back losses against Joseph Parker and Zhilei Zhang.
With a win over Herndon, Wilder is not only eyeing a future fight with Francis Ngannou, but he also sees a potential scrap with Anthony Joshua.
“Not this year for sure, but in the near future,” Wilder told 78SPORTSTV regarding a potential Joshua fight. “Maybe sometime next year. But all of that is close. I’ve just got to get myself back together first and foremost, and I have got to prove to myself that I am back together like I feel.”
