Dana White reveals big new Meta-backed UFC rankings are coming in 2025

UFC president Dana White has revealed that the planned Meta-backed rankings for the Ultimate Fighting Championship are coming.
For the longest time now, Dana White hasn’t been the biggest fan of the ranking system used by his promotion. There have been plenty of incidents in which he’s made that dislike known, but up to this point, they haven’t done a whole lot about it – until now.
Dana White has said in the past that there’s a chance we’ll see Meta-backed UFC rankings. Nobody really knew exactly what they were going to look like, and whether or not it was going to be solely based on AI. Now, following a recent video from the boss himself, we have a better idea.
Dana White announces Meta partnership
“What’s up everybody? UFC and Meta just signed a massive long term partnership. Meta will now become UFC’s first ever official fan technology partner. This is great news for UFC fans. Why? Because this means that Meta will use all of their badass apps and technology around Facebook, Threads, WhatsApp and Meta AI to create amazing content and experiences for UFC fans.”
“We’ve already started to work with Meta to create a new UFC ranking system that will debut later this year, thank god. We’ll also be using Meta’s AI-powered glasses to capture UFC content.”
There are so many more questions that need to be answered about this project, but right now, all we can really do is speculate. It’s been known for a long time that Dana White was going to be working on a deeper level with Meta, and now we have a clearer idea of how much influence they’re going to have.
Hopefully, things turn out great for all parties involved – so long as enough thought has gone into the creation of it.
