Curtis Millender Knocks Out Thiago Alves With Thunderous Knee

Thiago Alves couldn’t handle Curtis Millender’s standup.

Welterweight action was seen on the main card of UFC Austin. Millender, the promotion’s newcomer, took on seasoned veteran Alves. This one wasn’t close as Millender outmatched his opponent in the standup.

Millender struck first with a leg kick. Alves didn’t start off the fight with leg kicks like many had anticipated. He went for one eventually, but Millender got out of the way. A flying knee to the body was there for Millender. A jab was there for the newcomer. Alves was wobbled with a left hand.

A right hand dropped Alves. He sent him to the canvas with an uppercut. Millender celebrated too early. Alves was back up, but Millender kept peppering him with shots. Alves kept eating clean shots. Alves scored a takedown near the end of the round.

Round two was underway and Millender kept using his reach advantage. Alves swung leather, but found air. Alves was having a tough time reaching his opponent. He went with more leg kicks, but Millender was still moving. Millender knocked Alves out with a clean knee to the jaw.
