Alex Volkanovski Finishes Yusuke Kasuya In UFC Debut

Alexander Volkanovski

Lightweights Yusuke Kasuya (9-3) and Alex Volkanovski (14-1) went toe-to-toe at UFC Fight Night 101 in Melbourne. Kasuya’s Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) debut wasn’t a successful one as he lost to Nick Hein by decision. He looked to turn his misfortune around against “The Hulk.”

He couldn’t do so.

Kasuya took his opponent down early. He went for the back, but Volkanovski got to his feet. He prevented a takedown and landed a knee to the body. He then landed an elbow and dumped his opponent to the canvas. Volkanovski landed some hard strikes on the ground. Kasuya used a leg lock to reverse his position and gain top control. Volkanovski thwarted a leg lock attempted and dropped some hard punches to end the round.
