Roufusport Kickboxer Dennis Munson Dies Following Decision Loss In Milwaukee

We all know the inherent risks of combat sports, but that doesn’t make it any easier when we hear of fighters passing away. The sad news today comes by way of a ‘Knockout Kings’ kickboxing event that was held this past Friday, and the fallen warrior is Dennis Munson.

After battling for three rounds at ‘Knockout Kings’ on March 29, Munson collapsed and passed away later in the hospital. His family and friends were with him at the end, and we here at LowKick extend our deepest condolences to the Munson family.

A shocking eye witness account was given to Bloody Elbow, highlighting an alarming lack of officiating on the fateful night of Munson’s death:

“He shouldn’t have been allowed out there for the third round, it’s hard to describe, but at the end of the second (round) he seemed to have gassed very very hard. And when he came out for the third he had his hands down virtually the whole time. When his opponent was trying to strike him he fell into the ropes every time. (He) didn’t throw a single punch and barely covered up. But his mannerisms were of someone who was delirious. Like, he had no idea what was going on, where he was, and just on his last breath of life. Seriously. I’ve never seen someone like that before. I’ve seen guys get KO’d standing and still walk around, but not like this. I turned to my friend as soon as the bell rang of the third round and said, “We just watched a guy die.” And i’m really sad that it was true.”

The promotion that put on the show has posted the following statement:
