UFC Working On Joanna Jedrzejczyk vs. Claudia Gadelha 2

Joanna Jedrzejczyk vs. Claudia Gadelha

UFC President Dana White confirmed at the UFC Fight Night 80 post-fight press conference that a rematch between UFC strawweight champ Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Claudia Gadelha is in the works. White did not give a timetable for the fight.

Gadelha, who was supposed to fight Joanna JÄ™drzejczyk at UFC 195 for the women’s strawweight championship, was pulled from that fight due to her tearing ligaments while training for the fight. That was supposed to be the rematch.

The UFC then announced that Valerie Letourneau would replace her and fight Jędrzejczyk at UFC 193 in the co-main event. Jędrzejczyk would go on to win that fight. Jędrzejczyk underwent surgery to repair her broken hand back on November 24th.

Jedrzejczyk and Gadelha met in a non-title fight at UFC on FOX 13 in 2014, which saw Jedrzejczyk winning the fight via split decision.

The question remains when this fight will take place. It appears that the UFC is just waiting on Jędrzejczyk to get healthy and then when she is, they will book the fight.
