Sam Alvey: ‘Jose Aldo Would Still Beat Conor McGregor Even With Broken Bones’

ufc fight night 65

UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo’s status for UFC 189 is up in the air as he sustained a rib injury last week in preparation for his championship bout with Conor McGregor that is scheduled to be the main event of the show.

Fellow UFC fighter Sam Alvey mentioned on Smile N Sam P4P Podcast this week that Aldo’s injury would be a total insignificance in regards to the result of the affair.

“Aldo could have a broken arm, broken rib and a popped back and he’d still beat this boy”

Alvey would go follow up by saying:

“He (McGregor) fought Denis Siver and his butt hit the mat 3 times in a round and a half”

Aldo suffered the injury last week and the news was leaked on Twitter by a local reporter.

As noted, Chad Mendes will be at the event as a “stand by” fighter in case Aldo can’t go.

Jose Aldo (25-1) is currently on an 18-fight winning streak. In his last five bouts, he’s won two fights by knockout and then three of them by decision. Aldo last competed against Chad Mendes again at UFC 179 and won by unanimous decision.
