Video: Cheick Kongo trains Muay Thai, Boxing and Jiu Jitsu prior to UFC 149
Posted on July 27, 2012, 11:41 AM by Mike SearsonIn the following exclusive video, shared with us by our good friends at MMA H.E.A.T., Cheick Kongo trains in MMA, Muay Thai and boxing just two days prior to his apperance at UFC 149 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Kongo's trainers include Head Coach Dave Jackson, boxing coach Christophe Mendy and BJJ coach Mario Sukata.
Kongo went on to win over Shawn Jordan via unanimous decision. Kongo later claimed that he went into the bout with a pre-existing shoulder injury that worsened during the fight. When asked why he took the fight, he would say: "I dislocated my right clavicle and it was painful. Because it didn't move, I didn't need to have it readjusted."
On his training camp: "I have good coaches and partners who push me a lot. They don't take it easy on me because of an injury. They push, push, push."
The video is close to an hour in length.

Horrible fight but if his shoulder was as bad as claimed then that's fair enough, at least he was the only guy to stay on the main card

Well I'm not expert, but it this is his typical training session, no wonder he is so one demensional. He should start with ground work, as this is he's weakest area. So then he can train boxing and muay thai while he's muscles are pump with blood after grappling. Plus he is already tired and distracted 10 minutes in...So start with grappling I say ;)
