UFC 149 Post-Fight Interviews: Dana White is disgusted with MMA officiating
Posted on July 22, 2012, 04:26 PM by Mike DrahotaFirst off in a series of UFC 149 post-fight interviews from Fueltv.com, Dana White expressed his disgust with the way UFC 149's main card played out, especially in terms of the officiating that took place. Controversy due to officiating did surround both Cheick Kongo vs. Shawn Jordan and Tim Boetsch vs. Hector Lombard. White appeared visibly angry, saying:
“The officiating is gonna kill combat sports....I don't even know what to say.”
We will see if officiating continues to plague MMA and boxing with needless controversy and speculation. In other news, newly minted UFC Interim Bantamweight champion Renan Barao expresses his feeling of the win, obviously ecstatic at the results. Barao said:
“Faber's a great athlete, I feel as if I could have fought a bit better. None of Faber's blows really hurt me.”
Tim Boetsch spoke about his win over debuting Hector Lombard at Middleweight, in a bout that many though could have gone either way with the decision. Regardless of that, it was a highly hyped fight that failed to deliver any significant action for the fans expecting a large amount. However Boetsch broke his foot on Lombard's knee with a kick. Boetsch spoke out:
“I knew it was close. A lot of that was I just wasn't able to get going as fast as I wanted. I needed takedowns in this fight.”
Boetsch was apparently injured, but the hype surrounding Hector Lombard may have been put to rest, at least for now.
Finally, the only man to gain a finish on the main card was Matt Riddle, who secured an impressive arm-triangle choke victory over Chris Clements in the third round. He was on hand to discuss the win and described the submission:
“I think I'm finally catching my rhythm. I've been working with Robert Drysdale in Las Vegas, and he would have been proud of me.”

Oh now he calls out Yves Lavigne for bad reffing.....Figures. Has to protect his golden boy
You did watch the fight right? Three rounds of grab ass on the fence... Not that I'm a Dana fan-boy or anything... but... Dana is right. This fight was a perfect example of why the UFC should adopt the Pride yellow card.... to keep it an action packed fight or lose 10% of your purse. He should have kept them going.... not just hang around and watch them hug it out on the fence.
Never mind Lavinge, I think Rosenthall's call to interupt the Riddle fight was the biggest mistake of the night.
Some people say Weidman is still punching Munoz
Totally agree- bring on the yellow card!
@hatch Oh I agree that Yves Lavigne is a bad ref.
I was just saying how Dana looked the other way last time Yves ruined a fight
I take it your reffering to Silva vs Sonnen 2. I dont see how he ruined that fight.
I like the 10/8 scoring system for the same reason. The winner of the round gets 10 points and the loser gets 8 or less (no nines). That forces the loser of a round to be much more aggressive in the next round.
Jesus, none of these videos are available to Canadians, and the ****ing event was held in Canada
Ya, what's that aboot?
You know, I know lots of people including me who say "eh" a lot but I don't know where this "aboot" thing came from. I suspect it is an east coast / maritime pronunciation. I've never heard a single person say it that way.
Anyway, the video thing sucks
It's South Park, papo.....
Id also love to see knees to downed opponents so guys like Ebersole cant go for those super weak takedown attempts without eating some knees to the face while he just sits there. You really going to tell me that those would be more damaging than a cro-cop head kick? Then why arent they allowed?
Boestch vs Belcher,Munoz vs Lombard or Palhares,I would like to see Wandy vs Lombard thrown down! gotta
Muñoz got fvcked, remember?
dana white bitches like a woman. If you don't like the refs do something about it you billionaire ****. What is whining to the media going to do?
wow you really are stupid arent you
