It’s no secret that Conor McGregor and professional soccer superstar Ronaldo are becoming quite the pair of friends, as the Real Madrid star got ‘The Notorious One’ into Hollywood star J-Lo’s birthday bash earlier this month.

Now it appears as though the friendship may take a step further, as Irish Radio station Newstalk has revealed that the Real Madrid soccer club’s stadium wants to host a McGregor headlined UFC card (courtesy of AS):

“Indeed according to Irish radio station Newstalk, Real Madrid has expressed interest in holding a UFC event, with McGregor as the headline fight. Speaking exclusively to Newstalk.com, a spokesperson for the club said they would “be glad if we could make a UFC event; our stadium can hold more than 80,000 fans.”

Before we can begin discussing an overseas bout for the Irish champ, however, McGregor has quite the task in front of him at the moment as he will be taking on lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez in the main event of UFC 205 in attempt to become the first man in UFC history to hold two titles in different weight classes at the same time.

If McGregor is to emerge victorious against Alvarez next month, perhaps a title defense at ‘The Bernabéu’ is possible in the near future. Whether that will be defending the featherweight title, or lightweight title remains to be seen.

McGregor will meet Alvarez in the main event of UFC 205 for the lightweight title live on pay-per-view (PPV), from the Madison Square Garden arena in New York City on November 12, 2016.
