*Updated* Jon Jones: I Already Beat Alexander Gustafsson, ‘The Mauler’ Responds By Telling The Champion ‘Man Up’

UFC light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones has fired back at his critics in this recent video, proclaiming that he beat Gustafsson once, and quite clearly confirming that he doesn’t want a rematch with the surging Swedish star. It would seem that we can pretty much do away with the rankings at this point.

The number one contender is being overlooked in favour of Daniel Cormeir, at least according to Jones. DC made his 205-pound debut by beating unknown Pat Cummins, and has since extended his streak in the division to two with a win over Dan Henderson at UFC 173. Does Cormier deserve a title shot over Gustafsson?

The champion seems to think so. Check out the video that was posted to Jones’ Instagram account and subsequently deleted earlier today and let us know your thoughts on the ongoing soap opera.

*UPDATE* Alexander Gustafsson has responded to Jones by his facebook account. Check out what ‘The Mauler’ had to say about the champion’s ‘ducking’ antics:

“Jon “Bones” Jones, be a man, be a champ and sign that bout agreement and stop running. Keep in mind that after I beat you and become the champ I might be doing the same to you when you chase me for a rematch, as a revenge for not accepting my challenge. Sooner or later you will have to face me, just make it sooner! The fans wants this fight, UFC wants this fight and I want this fight, and I damn deserve it.”

The saga continues….
