Ed Soares says Chael Sonnen is an idiot, but he is promoting the greatest MMA fight of all time

Ed Soares has issued a plea for Brazilian fans in Rio de Janeiro during UFC 147. Soares, manager of UFC Middleweight champion, Anderson Silva, wants the fans to know that he feels their anger, but has bigger plans in store for Sonnen. Many have speculated that the physical health of Sonnen will be in jeopardy in Brazil, a country he has spoken a great deal of highly-publicized smack against. Soares had the following to say today:
“Hopefully people will understand that they shouldn't do anything against Chael, just boo him. Let Anderson settle this with him in the Octagon. It will be very bad for Brazil if something happens to him. The guy is an idiot, but he is promoting the fight and it will be the greatest MMA fight of all time." via mmamania.com
While Soares knows how bad Sonnen's trash talk can be, he is taking it all with a grain of salt. It appears Soares would prefer that Anderson Silva dismantle Sonnen in the Octagon rather than have any fans commit harmful violence upon Sonnen. Soares did choose to take the highroad in this statement, recognizing the climate of his countrymen but also wanting them to keep a level head. Sonnen is truly a hated man in Brazil, having called out everyone from the Nogueira brothers to Wanderlei Silva to Anderson Silva's wife. The only thing that has any chance of shutting Sonnen's mouth will be a decisive finish by Anderson Silva to end this feud once and for all. It will be quite the spectacle to witness when Chael Sonnen's entry music begins to play in Brazil on June 23. Will it truly be the greatest MMA bout of all time?

And the epic rematch will be in the champ's homeland? These two reasons alone give this fight the potential to be the most famous fight in the history of the UFC......... Possibly for years to come as well!!ยก!
It's all one sided isn't it? Chael is funny, hilarious even, but it seems like forrrrreeeevvvver since pt 1 happened. The interest in seeing pt 2 is already here. I just wish it would happen already.
Anderson needs to tell him to shut up again. Last time it worked pretty well. He hasn't said anything in a while.
I think you forgot that either way Chael will be sitting beside an enemy. Chael had a big war of words with Vitor as well - Vitor hates Chael (as far as I know).
I doubt Werdum is a big fan of his either.
I think there's a big chance old Chael P. Sonnen will be sitting next to Russow.
If there are riots at soccer stadiums, what will happen with fight hungry fans who are attending. There is going to have to be a cage leading to the cage for Sonnen otherwise he will definetly get hurt.

Ed Soares, a man who knows about idiots first hand. He sure changed his tune since the last fight, when Chael wasn't worthy of stepping in the ring.

Ed can't even translate with dignity or honesty. I certainly could care less what he has to say. I'd rather listen to Steven Segal, at least he's the spiders real coach.
But I'm with everyone else. Get the fight over with. I always root for Chael but I'd rather watch him fight than listen to him denying that he has ever lost. Either way, I'd like to see somebody take the belt from Silva instead of having it gifted for grabs after retirement.
Ed has a point. Obviously he isn't going to be too fond of Sonnen but he even realises how amazing he has done in promoting this fight. This is easily one of the most anticipated fights in the entire history of the sport, maybe the biggest MMA fight ever.
I love The Spider but everytime he is asked about Sonnen he trys to change the subject whle all Chael does is hype the fight and talk smack.
From a PR point of view, Chael is the man.
I like this by Ed. Lets say a fan does something to Sonnen prior to the fight that causes the fight to be called off. Us fans lose huge.

I hated Chael for the longest time. But, he's stepped up man. He put his money where his mouth is. You know how frightening it must be to go to Brazil in this environment? Not only go there, but to fight on a stage w/ Anderson Silva in front of 70,000+ people who want to kill him, and millions of people worldwide watching?
