Holly Holm & Miesha Tate Square Off In Fight Valley Bar

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last 24 hours, you’ll know Holly Holm is the new queen of the UFC women’s bantamweights….

UFC 193 went down on Saturday November 14 in Melborune, Australia, and will go down as one of the most shocking MMA events of all-time. Up until the main event, everything was going by the bookies guidelines; Joanna Jedrzejczyk defeated Valeri Letourneau and Mark Hunt had squashed Bigfoot in the first round, so all that was left was for the heaviest favorite on the card and the biggest current UFC draw Ronda Rousey to destroy the huge underdog Holly Holm in the main event. You know what they say about best laid plans.

‘The Preacher’s Daughter’ put an hellacious beating on the overwhelmed ‘Rowdy’ and got the fight all wrapped up in the second round via a monster head kick KO. Floods of brutal memes swept the internet, mocking Rousey at her lowest moment, and the quotes from happy critics came flooding in. One such critic was two-time Rousey opponent Miesha Tate, who was pretty much over the moon with the result at UFC 193.

‘Cupcake’ had been ousted from her much deserved trilogy maker with Rousey in favor of a bout with Holm. Perhaps the UFC felt Holm was less of a threat with Tate’s vast recent improvement, who knows, but Tate was irate. Dana White and Rousey didn’t seem to care, and ‘Cupcake’ was left out in the cold by ‘Rowdy’s’ scathing comments towards her.

So Holm’s victory opened the door to an immediate rematch with Rousey as the UFC president confirmed at the post fight press conference, meaning Tate will have to probably fight again to keep her number one status alive. It’s interesting to see this recent video clip from the movie Fight Valley, where anti-Rousey athletes Holly Holm, Miesha Tate and Cris Cyborg all played starring roles.

Check out the confrontation between Holm and Tate in this snippet of the movie, and bathe in the irony.
