UFC 193 Preliminary Results: Jake Matthews Defeats Akbarh Arreola By Doctor Stoppage

It was once again fight day here at LowKickMMA, and the talent on display tonight (Saturday, November 14th, 2015) will come in the form of UFC 193. Headlining the card are Ronda Rousey and Holly Holm, but there’s a whole bunch of great fights also taking place on the preliminary section of the card.

Jake Matthews (9-1) vs. Akbarh Arreola (23-10-1) in a lightweight bout closed the preliminary card on Fox Sports 1 for UFC 193. Arreola owned the first half of the first round with his ground and pound. However, Mathews got fired up and finished the round strong. In the second round, Mathews took him down and started landing elbows that cut his opponent open. The cut was so nasty that the doctor stopped the fight.

Kyle Noke (21-7-1) vs. Peter Sobotta (15-5-1) met in a welterweight bout. Noke made short work of the very tough Sobotta as he landed a front snap kick to the body of Sobotta to finish the fight in the first round.

Anthony Perosh (15-10) vs. Gian Villante (14-5) met in a light heavyweight bout. Villante swarmed early and landed some big strikes that put Perosh on his heels. Villante with a one punch knockout to end the fight in the first round.

Richie Vaculik (10-5) vs. Danny Martinez (17-7) opened the Fox Sports 1 preliminary bouts for UFC 193. Martinez controlled the fight with several takedowns that changed the pace of the fight that took over the momentum. He never let that change as he took the win by unanimous decision.

Daniel Kelly (10-1) vs. Steve Montgomery (8-4) in a middleweight bout finished off the UFC Fight Pass preliminary card. A tough fight for both men that showed that they had a ton of heart in this fight. It saw stand up and ground fighting, but in the end, the judges gave Kelly the win.

Richard Walsh (9-4) vs. Steve Kennedy (22-8) met in a welterweight bout. Walsh dominated the stand-up part of the fight with his nasty leg kicks that hurt Kennedy. On the ground, Kennedy was solid but was not enough to make a comeback and Walsh won the fight by unanimous decision.

Anton Zafire (7-2) vs. James Moontasri (9-3) was next in a welterweight bout. Moontasri made his presence known as he landed a spinning back kick and fist to drop to finish Zafire in the first-round.

Opening the UFC Fight Pass prelims was Ben Nguyen (14-5) vs. Ryan Benoit (8-4) in a flyweight bout. This one did not last long as Nguyen tagged him with a left/right hook combo that dropped Benoit. He worked him over with strikes as he took the back and locked in the rear-naked choke for the win.
