UFC lightweight Donald Cerrone extended his win streak to five at UFC 178, as he beat former Bellator lightweight champion Edde Alvarez convincingly over three rounds. Aside from a decent clinch rally in the first, “The Silent Assassin” was thoroughly outmatched.

“Cowboy” kept his man at range using mainly just kicks, to the body, head and legs. So much so, that Alvarez was hardly able to walk by the fight’s final minute. Indeed, Cerrone probably could have got the finish simply by trying to force Alvarz to stand up again.
