Shogun predicts a rematch with Lil Nog "very soon"

Maricio “Shogun” Rua is set to face Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida at UFC 113, a highly anticipated rematch between two of the best light heavyweight’s in the world. In the first match Machida won via a controversial decision at UFC 104 resulting in an immediate rematch between the two. However, Shogun feels that win or lose he expects a rematch with Antionio “Minotoro” Nogueira.

“I believe every fight is tough, but the fights with Lyoto and Minotoro were the toughest I had. Fans want that fight Rogerio again and I think we’re going to meet each other again. Minotoro is a guy I respect a lot and we talk often. Nobody can be underestimated, he is at the top of the category, and he has proved that. I’m sure that fight will happen soon.”

The two first faced off in Pride Fighting Championship in the middleweight tournament, where Shogun won the fight via decision and then ended up winning that tournament. Many people consider this fight to be one of the best fights in MMA history as it had everything from technical ground game to a stand up slug fest.

For now Shogun will face Machida for the light heavyweight championship at UFC 113 and Rogerio Nogueira is rumored to fight Forrest Griffin at UFC 114.
