Shavkat Rakhmonov’s injury: Sean Brady says he’s ‘cooked’
UFC welterweight Sean Brady didn’t hold back when talking about Shavkat Rakhmonov‘s latest injury setback.
Over the course of the last five years, Shavkat Rakhmonov has been one of the most intriguing fighters to come out of the welterweight division. It feels like he has all the tools necessary to become a world champion, and he was even lined up for a shot against Belal Muhammad for the belt not so long ago.
Unfortunately for Shavkat Rakhmonov, injury meant that it wasn’t going to happen. Recently, it’s been revealed that Shavkat has experienced another injury setback on his road to recovery, leaving many to wonder what kind of condition he will be in upon his return.
In a recent video, divisional rival Sean Brady gave his thoughts on the future of Shavkat Rakhmonov.
Sean Brady’s view of Shavkat Rakhmonov’s latest injury setback
“Bro, he’s cooked,” Brady said on his “The BradyBagz Show.” “I feel bad. I mean he’s already been out since – he hasn’t fought since the end of 2024. It was that Ian fight. He didn’t fight all of 2025. He was on crutches and had on a knee brace. Bro, he’s not fighting until 2027.
“Then how do you even come back. Are you a shell of yourself when you come back like that? You’ve got to be so scared to go into training. I feel bad. That f*cking sucks. He’s not going to get to come back and have like a layup. UFC don’t do that sh*t. No starter meals.”
Brady also discussed Colby Covington still being ranked despite Shavkat being removed.
“How the f*ck is Colby still in the rankings?” Brady said. “Colby is still in the rankings, bro. He hasn’t won a fight since like 2022 I think. He’s still in the rankings. It’s crazy. I don’t know how. He’ll be 38 this year. He has not fought since Buckley in 2024. He has not won a fight since 2022 and it was Masvidal. Get that b*tch-ass motherf*cker out of the rankings.”
