UFC on FX 5 is in the books and with it comes another night of very exciting fights on cable TV, proving that not always the best of cards come from pay-per-view only. In the main event, Travis “Hapa” Browne came in as the favorite over a man with something to prove, Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva. Knocked out in his last two bouts, albeit against top competition in the form of Daniel Cormier and then Cain Velasquez, Silva needed a win badly to cement his relevancy in the competitive UFC

Tonight’s UFC on Fox 3 from East Rutherford, New Jersey delivered an action-packed main card. Overall it was an exciting night of fights and an excellent event to continue the UFC’s run on Fox. First off, the main event did not fail to live up to the hype.
With a Lightweight title shot at stake for Nate Diaz this evening, many had considered his opponent Jim Miller the favorite. Diaz brought his trademark boxing to the cage to keep the talented grappler Miller at bay, who could never seem to find his
Earlier today the UFC on Fox 3 pre-fight press conference had some entertaining statements by the fighters on Saturday night’s card from New Jersey. Much speculation has been made as to the true title implications of the May 5 card, with White earlier insinuating that Nate Diaz would earn a title shot with a win, however his opponent Jim Miller may not. When asked about this situation and if he would wait
The UFC held UFC on FOX 2 on Saturday night in Chicago. The event took place in front of a sold out United Center and marked the first time the promotion had held an event in the Chicago area since UFC 90 was held at the Allstate Center in Rosemont, IL. During the event Rashad Evans punched his ticket to face UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones with a win over Phil Davis. Chael Sonnen earned a title shot as well, defeating Michael Bisping, setting up a bout against UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson
During 2011, UFC matchmaker Joe Silva was a busy man. In addition to his duties of putting together the fights for every card, he had to deal with a huge number of injuries, which caused him to have to go back and fight replacement fighters for the bouts impacted by injury.
As of now, it looks like that trend is going to continue for Silva heading into 2012. UFC 142 was beset with several injuries and now the upcoming UFC on FOX card, booked for January 28 in Chicago has been hit with the injury bug.
