Sean Brady Recalls Heated Conversation With “Loud a*s Mother**ker” Joaquin Buckley
No. 6-ranked welterweight contender Sean Brady takes on the No. 9-ranked 170-pounder Joaquin Buckley in the UFC Vegas 116 main event at the Meta Apex on April 25.
Both fighters are coming off losses and will look to return to winning ways. In 2025, Brady was TKO’d by Michael Morales at UFC 322, while Buckley lost to Kamaru Usman at UFC Atlanta.
Recently, Brady, in an interview with SteadyPicks, discussed a conversation he had with “New Mansa” outside the UFC PI. As per the 33-year-old, he was waiting for an Uber when Buckley approached him.
“So we are in Vegas. We are at the Apex. That’s where I was doing all my testing. I am in the front. I was waiting for an Uber, some loud a*s motherf*cker is coming out, it’s Buckley. He looks over and says, ‘Sean Brady!'”
Buckley, who tends to speak a little louder than most, has already called out the entire welterweight division for staying inactive, has torched Shavkat Rakhmonov many times on social media, and has also taken some verbal digs at Sean Brady in the past, after which Brady blocked him on Instagram.
During the aforementioned chat, “New Mansa” asked Brady why the latter had blocked him on Instagram. About that, the 33-year-old said during the same sitdown:
“Prior to this, he said something about me with my staff infection and me not washing my a*s. He was like ‘Man, why you block me on Instagram.’ We are about like here, and he is loud as sh*t bro.”
“New Mansa” then told Sean Brady that trash-talking is just his way of selling the fight, an ideology which the 33-year-old does not approve of. He added:
“I’m looking at him, I’m like, ‘I don’t like all this talking sh*t.’ We’re talking for like 5 minutes. He’s talking about selling fights.”
Brady added that after the brief interaction, he left once his Uber arrived. However, a few days later, he saw Buckley claim in an interview that he had tried to speak to Brady, but the later refused and just stood in the corner.
“My Uber comes, we bounce. I see an interview, this motherf*cker says that he was trying to talk to me, and I stood in a corner. I know people from the PI. I think I can take footage of it, I’m pretty sure he was trying to shake my hand.”

Sean Brady wants to submit Joaquin Buckley at UFC Vegas 116
During the same interview, Sean Brady, while talking about his upcoming fight with Joaquin Buckley, opined that he’s going to be the first fighter to hand “New Mansa” a submission loss.
So far, the 31-year-old has 7 losses in his pro MMA career. However, he has never been submitted. Hence, Brady wants to be the one. He said:
“On paper, it’s a striker vs. grappler… I don’t think he has a single submission on his record. Whereas I’m a submission guy. I think I could submit anybody. I don’t think he’s ever been submitted so, it would be nice to be the first one to put that on my record.”
