Ronda Rousey Calls Cris Cyborg ‘It’, Sponsor Offers $5K For ‘Rowdy’ KO

UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey is no stranger to trash talking; the feisty Judo specialist has had heated feuds with Miesha Tate and many others along the way, but is currently locked in a war of words with Cris ‘Cyborg’ Justino. The former Strikeforce women’s boss gives as good as she gets, but ‘Rowdy’ has kicked it up a notch.

While talking to Yahoo! Sports, Rousey discussed her long-time rival ‘Cyborg’ and her desire to fight her whether she is on steroids, or not:

“I’ve said before, I don’t care if she’s injecting horse semen into her eyeballs, I’ll fight her, but that’s just my personal decision,” Rousey said. “But I can’t make a decision for the whole division. I can’t say it’s the right thing. This girl has been on steroids for so long and [has been] injecting herself for so long that she’s not even a woman anymore. She’s an ‘it.’ It’s not good for the women’s division. It’s not good at all.”

‘Cyborg’ tested positive for Stanozolol following her 16-second TKO win over Hiroko Yamanaka at Strikeforce: Melendez vs. Masvidal, in 2010. Justino has fought twice since then, finishing Fiona Muxlow and Marloes Coenen in convincing fashion. The Brazilian claims to be clean again, and passed a random drug test by the NSAC this past March. Rousey continued:

“If she comes in the UFC and I beat the [expletive] out of her and then I retire and become an action movie star, then the UFC is still going to be stuck with her. The division could die. She could ruin the whole sport. Even though it’s a fight a lot of people want to see, even if I beat the living crap out of her, it won’t be good for the sport because then she’d still be in the UFC.”

Well Rousey may be on point with her comments sometimes, but her ‘it’ comment does remind me of the time Matt Mitrione crossed the line with his Fallon Fox tirade. Funnily enough, MMA sponsor ‘Americana MMA’ took to their twitter account after ‘Rowdy’ made the above comments, and they have a very interesting take on things:

The following was then posted to the sponsor’s official facebook page:

“Matt Mitrione calls Fallon Fox a freak; Matt Brown says that WMMA would be more exciting if women fought topless; both fighters are reprimanded. Ronda Rousey states that Cyborg is not a woman but more of an ‘it,’ and nothing happens. “

Dynamic Fastener offered Miesha Tate an extra k if she was able to knock Ronda Rousey out, and it looks like Alexis Davis has a little extra incentive for UFC 175. Do you think she has overstepped the mark with her comments, perhaps even broken the UFC code of conduct; a rule that Miguel Torres, ‘Meathead’ and many others have fallen foul to?
