Petruzelli The Kimbo Killer loses in his UFC Return

The man most famous for his KO win over Kimbo Slice which caused the subsequent demise of mma promotion Eltite XC made his return to the UFC tonight in Las Vegas.

Seth ‘The Silverback’ Petruzelli had not step foot inside the famed octagon since Ultimate Fight Night 9 back in 2007.

However Petruzelli who was riding a four fight win streak will be disappointed with how his return went.

A featured fight on the Spike TV Pre-lims, Petruzelli would have been hoping to make a big impression upon his return to the UFC to ensure his return would be a lengthy one.

However things did not go according to plan for the man who defeated Kimbo as he lost to Ricardo Romero via arm bar in the second round.

Romero was a hot prospect entering his UFC debut at 9-1 in his career but Petruzelli was the favorite with his vast experience advantage.

Despite landing some big shots to his opponent, Petruzelli visibly tired and when the fight went to the floor in the second round things did not go well for him. Romero worked and sunk in the arm bar that would induce a loud verbal submission from Petruzelli who possibly broke his arm in defeat.

The future now for Seth is uncertain as his performance can be viewed as mixed.

He likely could serve as lower level gatekeeper in the Light-Heavyweight Division, but in reality the UFC pay roll is already stacked and don’t be surprised to see his UFC return as a one fight deal.
