MMA World Reacts as Mauricio Ruffy Returns to Winning Ways at UFC 325
Mauricio Ruffy returned to the win column earlier tonight at UFC 325, against Rafael Fiziev. All that hard work, his time away from The Fighting Nerds, to train with ‘The Great,’ has finally paid off.
Ruffy did not start the fight on a high note, and Fiziev did the most damage with calf kicks in Round 1. In Round 2, while Fiziev was trying to close the distance and land bigger, Ruffy seized the moment and turned the momentum in his favor by landing a clean right hand, followed by another that sent the Azerbaijani fighter crashing to the canvas.
Although Fiziev managed to get back to his feet and tried to survive the final seconds of Round 2, Ruffy continued landing the heavier blows and sent ‘Ataman’ crashing near the fence. The Brazilian sniper then poured on power punches, forcing the referee to step in and call a stop to the contest.
With that, Ruffy sealed the TKO win at the 4:30 mark of round 2.

Last week, Jean Silva put the Fighting Nerds back on track with a win at UFC 324, and now Ruffy has kept the good run going.
He looked emotional after returning to winning ways and called out Conor McGregor, Paddy Pimblett, and Michael Chandler.
