Conor McGregor May Fight at the UFC White House Event According to Dana White

Dana White is currently on a media tour in preparation for this weekend’s massive boxing event, Canelo Álvarez vs. Terence Crawford, which will take place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. This will be the first Zuffa Boxing event promoted by Dana White under TKO, and it is set to stream on Netflix.
During the tour, Dana answered some questions regarding the recent official announcement of UFC White House, scheduled for June 2026. Speculation is rampant within about which fights will be featured on this highly anticipated card.
Undoubtedly the most prestigious stage the UFC will ever have the opportunity to perform on, the caliber of fighters should reflect the magnitude of the setting.
While sitting down with Jim Rome for an interview, Dana was asked about the possibility of former double champion “The Notorious” Conor McGregor making his return to the UFC Octagon for this historic event.
Dana White on McGregor: “This Is the Fight Business, This isn’t Tennis”

Being candid with UFC President Dana White, Jim Rome asked if someone who has only won one fight in the last seven years would still be wanted on a card of this caliber.
“Do you want him on that card?”
“We’ll see how this thing plays out. I’ll start making this card in February. If it all plays out that way, Conor could be on the card,” replied Dana White.
“You would still take him?” Rome responded, seemingly surprised by White’s answer.
“Yeah,” Dana replied quickly.
Jim Rome followed up, “You still respect him that much? He’s got a lot of trouble. Now, when he was on, he made a lot of money. I get it.”
Dana White rebutted, “This is the fight business. This isn’t tennis. This is the fight business. It’s not golf.”
Rome then asked Dana, “Can he still do what you need him to do or what you want him to do?” referring to whether McGregor could still compete at a high level in a UFC main event.
“We’re going to find out,” Dana White said simply.
With McGregor not having fought in what will be five years by the time of the event, how realistic is his comeback? He was set to face lightweight contender Michael Chandler at UFC 303, but that bout was canceled due to an injury sustained by Conor.
Who would he fight upon his return? Who is worthy of headlining a fight at the White House?
So many questions, with so few answers. The MMA community eagerly awaits February for Dana’s official card announcement.
