Mario Pinto Grinds Out Victory Over Felipe Franco to Stay Undefeated – UFC London Highlights
Mario Pinto moved to 12-0 with a decisive decision victory over Felipe Franco at UFC London.
Despite delivering a couple of statement-making knockouts in his first two Octagon appearances, Pinto seemed disinterested in engaging with Franco.
Following a lackluster opening round, Pinto finally mustered some offense, taking Franco down near the cage and landing some solid strikes just before the bell. Still, it was an unusual performance for the undefeated knockout artist.
Luckily for Pinto, Franco wasn’t offering much in the way of offense, allowing the fight to remain competitive with minimal effort. Five minutes away from a potential 12th straight win, Pinto opted to spam takedown attempts and control in the clinch throughout round three.
It was far from an exciting fight, but Pinto’s sleep-inducing strategy was more than enough to keep his ‘O’ intact.
