Lerone Murphy Hails Rafael Fiziev and Justin Gaethje’s Inspiring Comeback Journeys
Lerone Murphy is super impressed after witnessing Justin Gaethje and Rafael Fiziev’s most recent UFC bouts.
The 37-year-old Gaethje put on one of his best performances to date earlier this month at the White House against Ilia Topuria. “The Highlight” dethroned the Georgian-Spaniard in Round 4 by TKO (corner’s stoppage) on June 14 to grab the undisputed UFC lightweight championship.

This past weekend, Fiziev also returned to winning ways with a stunning Round 2 knockout victory on home soil against the surging Manuel Torres.
Given what two of the most entertaining lightweights have delivered inside the octagon, Lerone Murphy couldn’t help but be impressed. He posted on X, lauding “The Highlight” and “Ataman.” Murphy wrote:
“Come back stories like Fiziev’s and Gaethje’s are inspiring. That’s what it’s about. That’s a true testament to their character. MMA is the best sport in the world.”

Murphy also has work to do to get himself back into the title picture. The Brit suffered the first loss of his MMA career earlier this year at UFC London. “The Miracle” was defeated by Movsar Evloev.

Rafael Fiziev thanks Justin Gaethje for motivating him: “made me believe in myself again”
After getting his hand raised at UFC Baku, Rafael Fiziev thanked Justin Gaethje, adding how much his former opponent’s win over Ilia Topuria helped him rebuild his confidence. He said:
“Justin, you have no idea how much you motivated me. After your performance against Topuria, you made me believe in myself again… I didn’t know how to believe in myself anymore. That guy went out there and made me happy.”
