Kaik Brito Vows Reclaiming Gold at Oktagon 84 in “Toughest Fight” vs. Ronald Paradeiser
Kaik Brito battles Ronald Paradeiser at Oktagon 84: Paradeiser vs. Brito on February 14th for the OKMMA vacant welterweight championship. Paradeiser is a former lightweight champion and finalist of the European MMA Champions League. When asked for his thoughts on what Paradeiser brings to the table in terms of his resume and skills as a fighter, Brito said [via Bowks Talking Bouts],
“In my view, it would be a very dangerous opponent for me. I think that is my toughest fight that I have ahead.”
In terms of the mindset entering this bout, having previously been the Oktagon welterweight champion before, but there was also an opportunity where he fought for that vacant title that didn’t go his way. In that context, when asked, how much would it mean to him to become a two time Oktagon welterweight champion here, Brito stated [via Bowks Talking Bouts],
“I think that is my moment. The fights that fell through, I think that has a purpose that for bring me to this time. So I can get my belt. This is my position. I will get it.”
When asked if this would be a bigger moment than when he won the Oktagon MMA belt from David Kozma before, Brito quipped [via Bowks Talking Bouts],
“Yes, for me this is very special. Way more special because of some personal things I went through and having this, another opportuntiy to fight for the belt, is way more special… I can talk about everything but what I can say here is that I really want to stop fighting. I lost the; I didn’t want to continue but because of some people that made not good things in my personal life. But now I’m back. I’m excited and I’m going to fight.”
When asked what helped reconnect him to his internal fire as a fighter, Brito responded [via Bowks Talking Bouts],
“I think that God help me to get back to the track. When I saw, I wanted more than I ever know.”
Kaik Brito eyes regaining Oktagon MMA belt and Ion Surdu rematch
Kaik Brito enters this title bid off a first-round finish at Oktagon 73, and when reflecting on his victory in his last fight in June, Brito said [via Bowks Talking Bouts],
“I’m glad that I got that victory in the first round. But now it’s another time. I’m not looking to the past, I’m looking to the future. I want the belt and I’m going to take the belt because I think it’s mine.”
When asked how far he was looking off into the future and which goals he’s looking to achieve, Brito stated [via Bowks Talking Bouts],
“Looking to the future, I really, really wanted to fight again with [Ion] Surdu. I was doing well in the fight. I was better but it was just not my day. So I wanted to fight him again. I wanted to fight Surdu again in the future.”
