Justin Gaethje Agrees With Ilia Topuria’s Ex-Wife: I’d Leave Him Too

The bad blood between Ilia Topuria and Justin Gaethje has been brewing as UFC Freedom 250 draws close. In a recent interview, the current and two-time UFC lightweight champion unloaded on “El Matador.” He mocked Topuria’s divorce and appeared to label the reigning UFC lightweight titleholder a megalomaniac.

Topuria and his ex-wife Giorgina Uzcategui parted ways last year, and their divorce was finalized earlier this year through an out-of-court settlement. As a result, the Georgian-Spaniard took a hiatus from fighting, during which Gaethje dismantled Paddy Pimblett at UFC 324 to capture the interim title.

Now, on June 14 at the White House, “The Highlight” and “El Matador” will meet in a lightweight title unification bout.

Recently, Justin Gaethje appeared in an interview with FOX Sports Australia during which he did not hold back about how he feels about his next opponent. The 37-year-old also took personal digs at Topuria. Gaethje quipped:

“All that guy is, is a gimmick. He calls himself the king. He thinks he’s a God. What an annoying little ba*tard. I couldn’t imagine being in a room with him for 30 minutes listening to him talk about himself. All I can say is this: I would leave him. That’s all I’m saying. No way I would put up with his sh*t.”

Ilia Topuria is bringing some “calm anesthesia” for Justin Gaethje at UFC Freedom 250

Ilia Topuria remains composed and confident as always and has predicted a Round 1 knockout against Justin Gaethje on June 14. Meanwhile, while reacting to Gaethje’s recent comments that he wants to remind the world that Topuria is human, like everyone else, and wants to humble “El Matador,” the latter said:

“Justin has the same speech as my previous rivals, saying he’s going to teach me a lesson in humility and put me in my place because I’m super arrogant. But we’re going to bring him some calm anesthesia.” [via Diario AS]
