Julia Polastri ferociously finished Karolina Kowalkiewicz in the third round at UFC Rio

Midway through the first round Polastri landed an excellent body kick that appears to hurt Kowalkiewicz. The body work continued throughout the first round with aggressive knees in the clinch from the Brazilian. A late flurry at the end of the first almost had the referee stepping in.

More of the same continued in the second round with Polastri dominating the exchanges with big flurry of work. With the crowd booming around the arena Polastri pushed forward even as her cardio looked as if it was seeping away. The toughness of Kowalkiewicz was truly undeniable.

In the third round Polastri landed a flush headkick to find the finish with a vicious combination against the cage Marc Goddard stepped in.
