Joseph Duffy Submits Mitch Clarke In 25 Seconds

The opening bout in the main card of UFC Fight Night 90 served as an opportunity for two lightweights to rebound from a loss. Joseph Duffy (15-2) was on a four-fight winning streak before dropping a decision to Dustin Poirier back in January 2016. His opponent, Mitch Clarke (11-4) also lost his last bout by decision to Michael Chiesa. Only one 155-pound bruiser could avoid his second straight defeat.

That fighter was “Irish Joe,” and he did it emphatically.

Duffy immediately landed a punch over the top that sent Clarke to the canvas. “Irish Joe” threw some punches and took the back of “Danger Zone” to force the tap. It took Duffy just 25 seconds to finish the fight, earning him the fourth fastest submission victory in the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s (UFC) lightweight division.
